For more than 20 years, we’ve been teaching an IV Moderate Sedation Course in conjunction with the UCLA School of Dentistry.  Our patient’s participation, allows us to continue to teach the course.

 In return for your participation, you will be given an exam and limited x-rays for a minimal fee.  Additionally, we are able to offer complimentary IV sedation and favorable discounts on treatments such as multi-surface fillings, deep cleanings (scaling and root planing), wisdom teeth extractions, root canals, and crowns.  There will be no charge to patients needing only a cleaning, 1 extraction, or 2 small fillings.  Your insurance, where applicable, will be billed accordingly.

 During the course, a participating dentist administers medications intravenously, while our doctors and hygienists perform the treatment.  The participating doctor is under the direct supervision of the course instructors and a certified doctor on our staff.

 IV sedation is a service that is performed daily at Wendel Family Dental Centre, and remains a favored option for patients not only receiving surgery, but also for those who experience great anxiety in the dental chair.

 Candidates for IV sedation need to be 16 years of age and older, with a clear and approved medical history.  Our IV Course is generally offered in May, so we start screening patient’s for this opportunity February through April.  If you are interested in learning more and would like to schedule a screening appointment, please contact our Scheduling Coordinator Debbie at (360)944-3117.
